The Laboratory Department is certified by the College of American Pathologists. The department has recently been updated with new state-of-the-art equipment. The new Lab computer system is tied in with Conemaugh Health System's mainframe and provides faster service. Our technical staff includes Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians and Phlebotomists. The Department operates under the Medical Directorship of Dr. Harold Ashcraft, Pathologist.
Laboratory services are provided to inpatients, emergency room patients and outpatients in the field of:
- hematology
- chemistry
- urinalysis
- blood bank

- histology
- pathology
All tests require a physician's order. Some may require you to fast. If you are not sure whether or not you should fast prior to having the test done, please check with your family physician.
